This song is an exploration of rhythm through vocals in my beloved nordic folk atmospheres.

What I did was very much adapted to my own abilities and knowledge, but the two main "beats" are based on throat singing. The first one, which in my version sounds like "growl beatboxing" is actually derived from Inuit throat singing. I encourage you to check it out, it is absolutely stunning and so full of cultural baggage that I can never relay to you. I can only hope to spark your interest!

The second one, with conlang lyrics, is closer to a growl using vocal fry. I find that vocals are so powerfully evocative, and this was my way of showing that. Even just a breath, or a distant scream, can communicate so much.

I hope you will also enjoy the blend of the classic folk artwork look with an illustration that features very stylized interpretation of a Mamuthone, a traditional Sardinian figure, and a gate inspired by one of the Bomarzo statues. I felt it would represent well the cultural blend I bring with my own music.

lyrics

The lyrics are in "Psamathese", a made-up language I created that is based on sounds and feelings rather than words and meanings. Don't think about what the lyrics translate to, but focus on the emotions that they create within you and let them help you find your own interpretation.
