This song was written to support the Amazon Rainforest and the indigenous people who protect it. 100% of what this song earns will be donated to Amazon Frontlines: www.amazonfrontlines.org/who-should-decide/

My work for this composition was very improvisation-based: I improvised most of the vocals and then wrote the rest around them. I wanted to use my voice's warm and powerful colors to spread the word about the importance of this cause. The growls were used first as a communication close to nature, and then as an expression of anger. However, my favorite thing was going all out with indigenous American instruments from the Maleventum 2 library. There is a death whistle, a war trumpet (trompeta moche), and a "whispering vessel" (vasija silbadora), which creates sound through an hydraulic system.

Though I obviously lack the cultural knowledge to use these instruments at their fullest, I wanted to highlight them and hopefully spark people's interest in them: there is so much we can lose when we don't support indigenous people. The instruments sampled here were handcrafted by the Argentinian collective "Nomada Ceramica".

The lyrics are in "Psamathese", a made-up language I created that is based on sounds and feelings rather than words and meanings. Don't think about what the lyrics translate to, but focus on the emotions that they create within you and let them help you find your own interpretation.
